We have 1 dog and a team of 5 cockatiels in training.

Working with animals to help them heal from repetitive stress and trauma is often just what a client needs. Pet therapy is becoming increasingly popular.

Gorgeous

Gorgeous has four specialties: sensitivity training on touch, sound healing, talk therapy and acupressure.

The first, sensitivity on touch, is allowing his head to be scratched. If Gorgeous finds you are "into your own head" and not paying attention, he flies to distract you, then will land on your head and gently apply his fourth area of specialty, acupressure, to your scalp.

Singing, for a cockatiel, is a God given gift.

Gorgeous is also excellent at talk therapy and positive reinforcement. He will say "Hello Gorgeous" to clients to remind them who he is and that they also are Gorgeous.

See, Gorgeous gets it, as do most animals, we are all ONE and we are so gorgeous that whistling and singing occurs naturally.

The use of animals in such situations is rapidly becoming a specialist treatment area in itself

While Healing Partnerships does not offer Clinical Social Work, nor Psychiatric medicine, we do help people with sourcing alternatives to standard allopathic medicine.

We also help people in the sourcing of open minded and multiple modality practitioners of medicine such as bio-oxidative medicine, nutrition specialists, injectable homeopathy, vitamin I.V. therapies, and other cutting edge practices.

Working with pets and trained therapy animals is one of the quickest ways to open hearts and minds to the possibility of someone being "worthy" to "heal".

Unlike many humans, an animal has no preconceived notion that something will not work.

Anastasia Smith

"Anna" is in training to become a purr-meister. Anastasia is still a bit shy around strangers. Her sonic talents are gentle, soothing, and natural. She is still needing to work on not acting like an acupuncturist with her claws.

Buddy

When Buddy came to live with us, he had been run over by a car the year prior. His back had recovered some, but he is unable to bend in ways that most dogs are able to bend.

Buddy is a Papillion who takes being a lap dog very seriously. Due to his old injuries, it takes him awhile to get situated comfortably. Buddy is learning how to purr but has quite a bit of work ahead of him to become a "purr-meister".

Penelope

Penelope moved here from Texas last year. She is still having trouble understanding an Indiana accent, but is learning this new language rapidly.

Penelope is an expert at herding, being petted, going on long walks, and being cradled on her back like a baby.
