- Musical Bookings for Tommy Myers -
- You name the instrument, and Tommy can probably play it fabulously well - except for the violin... Put the sheet music in front of him, he can sight read like a Maestro. Or simply tell him the name of the song and what key you want him to play it in and hit record! Tom is available for gigs with the bands listed below, is able to put together a great jazz ensemble (or whatever genre you want) with the set list of your choice. Tom is a highly qualified live stage, studio and pit musician as the result of a lifetime of performances and his innate musical gifts. If you ask Tommy to play Tenor Saxophone, Judy will endear you to her heart.

Tom is the third generation in a family of musical educators and performers. By training he is a fabulous sight reader and multi-instrumentalist and by birth, he is a gifted musician. Tom's musical career began in grade school with local theater performances. By age 24 Tom was performing on Broadway in pit orchestras, touring with Geraldine Fitzgerald, and playing as many as 23 different instruments in one evening's performance.
In addition to performing and touring with Geraldine Fitzgerald for 8.5 years, Tom also played clarinet in a polka band (it was in the Bahamas in the dead of winter) and produced musical theater in Connecticut. Leonard Bernstein always hoped to hear Tom on saxophone but seemed to only catch his performances when Tom was playing piano or bass. You will have to ask Tom about Leonard's famous and repeated quote about him “You are still not on the right instrument…” Leonard always hoped to catch Tom performing on woodwinds.
Tenor Saxophone IS the right instrument. Just ask Judy what is the RIGHT instrument. Judy is the owner of an 1867 Buffet Crampon Tenor saxophone, which is probably the REAL reason Tom and Judy are partners today!
Tom currently performs with several different bands due to his malady which some call Musical A.D.D. which means Musical Attention Dialed Differently. Tom loves most genres of music (Jazz is still#1, rock is still #2 and Judy loves the Blues). When performing in New York City with Geraldine Fitzgerald Tom was paid an extra $50 a week for performing a unique classification of instruments - he whistled! Rhapsody in Wax

Rhapsody in Wax
Timeless & smooth, like a good single malt Scotch! RHAPSODY IN WAX is the area’s premier Prohibition-era ensemble. Whether it’s hot jazz, sweet croons, or bistro/Latin/calypso, this talented quintet has never failed to engage audiences of all ages and interests. All five members have played in a wide range of musical projects and styles; this brings a freshness to their performance and variety to their repertoire, making Rhapsody In Wax a truly unique and unforgettable experience.
MARK TURNEY [vocals, ukulele, piano] The self-taught California native is the group’s songwriter and front man. He has been crooning since he was six years old and playing ukulele since 2000. Mark has had a lifelong obsession with the Golden Age of Jazz (and Hollywood, for that matter) that made the formation of Rhapsody In Wax inevitable.
GWENDRA TURNEY [vocals, violin, air trumpet, musical saw] Gwendra (her real name) is a Fort Wayne native, although everyone asks where she is from. As far back as she can remember, she has played musical instruments, crooned lovely tunes, and pranced around in costumes. Influenced by her world travels, dance, and a love of art, she brings femininity and flare to the stage.
TOMMY MYERS [piano, accordion, woodwinds, percussion, vocals] Tommy has been involved with music all his life, including fifteen years in Broadway pit orchestras and multiple tours with Geraldine Fitzgerald, among others. Along with his partner, Judy Cole, he is involved with sound healing and alternative health.
DAVE NELSON [double-bass, vocals] A whiz on both electric and upright bass, Dave received a host of prestigious awards during his early playing days which propelled him to continue his playing career at Purdue. As a Boilermaker, he played with a number of variety and jazz ensembles as well as local professional acts before he moved to the DC area. There, Dave continued to gig at many area clubs and hotels with hometown favorite, Earl Jackson, before he got invited to tour with Rhythm House and eventually to open up for the Grammy-winning band, Petra. A versatile player and ardent about passing on his love for music, you can see Dave perform regularly as he frequents local clubs with various bands.
MICHAEL ANDREWS a.k.a STICKS MALLOY, Gangster Drummer [percussion] Born in the Mississippi Delta, Michael has had an affinity for the blues his entire life. He began playing drums professionally at the age of 12 and has since performed with local, national, and international musicians, including two years spent in South Africa playing with musicians from all over the African continent. Michael enjoys all styles of music but currently specializes in jazz and blues. He is available for instruction, workshops, and drum circles in the Fort Wayne area and seeks to promote cultural unity and understanding through music.

Jen and the Foggy Creek Band
Jen & the Foggy Creek Band is currently ramping up for 2018 and searching for the final pieces of the project. We have played a handful of shows already as a 4 piece and the timing seems to be right for this type of project.
Current instrumentation includes Banjo, Acoustic Rhythm guitar, Acoustic Bass, and Keys. The style of the project is Americana/Bluegrassish. Think of a blend of Mumford & Sons, Punch Brothers, and Brandy Carlisle. The set list is 1/3 popular pop/rock, country songs (done in the style of the band), 1/3 more obscure Americana/bluegrass songs, and 1/3 original music (approximately 30 songs on the current set list with the goal to get to 60 by March of next year).
The goal is to play 1-3 times per month and we are targeting more specialized events and shows.
To learn more about the project, please visit www.foggycreekband.com
10-17-2017 We’re excited to be adding keys to the band. We had our first practice tonight and boy did it sound cool. We’re still looking for a full time drummer, mandolin player, and fiddle player.
2018 looks like it’s gearing up to be a good year for the project so if you know anyone who plays any of the above instruments, send them our way.
Make your plans to hear Celia Price on keys, John Warner on banjo, Tommy Myers on Bass, and Jen Fisher on guitar and lead vocals soon!
Next up for us is Monday, November 13th at Deer Park Irish Pub from 6:30-8:00 P.M. We hope you can join us for an early evening of toe-tappin' music, good beers, and great company!!!

Final GIG
December 2, 2017
The Eagles Club
Lofty Drive
Fort Wayne, Indiana
It has been stated that all good things come to an end.
Musicians play together, learn together, grow up and grow together, and sometimes grow apart.
In the case of Sugar Shot, each musician in the band is wanting to pursue music more akin to their ultimate liking.
We do not want to believe that these band members will stop being family, for that is what they have become over the past nearly 9 years that they have made music together and extended family out of some of their fans.
We are sooooo close to having the fully OMNi experience for an entire band.
Tommy just wants to make music.
Tommy and Judy both want the music to be OMNiSound reproduced.
If you do not see Judy dancing her socks off at this final gig of Sugar Shot, you will find her in the corner crying.

About: The musical wanderings, poetry, camaraderie, humor, and deepest feelings of three musician friends around a kitchen table.
Biographies:
RICKY KEMERY: Ricky has been a singer/songwriter since he was 15 years of age. He played extensively during the 1970s in clubs in northeast Indiana, spent some ...time as a solo artist in New Mexico, played in rock & roll bands - and then returned to the music scene in 2005. Ricky has produced two CDs. His first CD, “River of Light,” was released in 2010 and features songs mainly written from 2005-2010. River of Light was produced in his home recording studio. River of Light features extensive guitar work with a six and 12-string guitar. Ricky used a cut capo, phasers, and delay to produce unusual sounds and effects for the acoustic guitar. The second CD, “Painted Sky,” features original Urban Folk and New Age Country songs primarily written between 2011-2015. This CD was recorded at 1521 Studios in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Besides writing songs, Ricky plays guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin, banjo, and percussion. Originally from Steuben County, Indiana, Ricky loves nature; he grew up living near the over 101 lakes in northern Indiana. Ricky also lived for a time in New Mexico, and this experience in the desert southwest is also reflected in his songs. His love of nature is reflected in many of the over 100 songs he has written over the years.
GWENDRA TURNEY: Gwendra (her real name) is a Fort Wayne native, although everyone asks where she is from. As far back as she can remember, she has played musical instruments, crooned lovely tunes, and pranced around in costumes. She has been seen in many local acts and genres, including Rhapsody in Wax (prohibition-era jazz), The Mighty McGuiggans (Irish punk), and currently Sugar Shot (country rock). Influenced by her world travels, dance, and a love of nature and art, she brings femininity and flare to the table. Her hobbies include photography, painting, fitness, animals, and growing and eating food.
TOMMY MYERS: Tommy can play every instrument there is except for violin. He has been involved with music all his life, including fifteen years in Broadway pit orchestras and multiple tours with Geraldine Fitzgerald, performing for Presidents, such as Jimmy Carter, and many Hollywood actors and actresses. He also performs with local bands Sugar Shot, The Mighty McGuiggans, Rhapsody in Wax, The Randy Kimball Blues Band, Blue Shot Sugar, Joie du Jazz, Eccentric Uncle. Along with his partner, Judy Lynne Cole, he is involved with sound healing and alternative health.

The RKBB was one of the best direct results to evolve out of The P.E.D.I.C.U.R.E. A.R.T. Project in 2010 in West Central Neighborhood in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The P.E.D.I.C.U.R.E. A.R.T. Project was five separate free events throughout the summer and early fall that brought art to the park strips of the corridors along with fabulous music, street performers, great vendors and speakers, organic food, and a lot of fun times to the neighborhood along the corridors of Washington and Jefferson Boulevards. The 2011 events ALL ended up being indoor organic potlucks as it rained EVERY scheduled event!
BUT - Year ONE - three musicians who had never performed together as a trio pulled off one of the best impromptu Blues gigs ever at their first event together. While Tom and Randy had played together for years with The Story Band, Mike was a new player to both of them. Everyone of the P.E.D.I.C.U.R.E. A.R.T. eventS thereafter was deemed an unofficial practice session and this blues tri just kept getting better and better. Before the end of the series of events, the Randy Kimball Blues Band was picking up bookings and getting paid as a result of their generosity to help a local art project launch its' first season.
Now the RKBB performs regularly and can be seen at local venues such as Mad Anthony's in Auburn, The Draft Horse in Orland, Jimmy's on James, Four Crowns in Auburn, Ivy Tech and others. On Saturday, July 19th, 2014 the RKBB will be at Mad Anthony's in Auburn.
