Lake Michigan Water Ceremony
We do want to support an awareness of water events. There is importance in gathering for the imparting of blessings. Be ever mindful of the value of your words and the importance of them, for they impact you and those around you physically. We believe water is a living being with memory. The image was made by placing water in a small round container, using a microscope with a camera and a light ring and putting sound into the water through a speaker on the bottom of the container. The series of photos were taken over time as the sound repetitively impacted the water. As the 111 hertz sonically created waves moved outward, they hit the sides of the container holding the water and then travelled back inward, intersecting with the outward flowing waves, thus creating standing waves. The British Dictionary describes a standing wave as follows: standing wave noun 1. (physics) the periodic disturbance in a medium resulting from the combination of two waves of equal frequency and intensity travelling in opposite directions. There are generally two kinds of displacement, and the maximum value of the amplitude of one of these occurs at the same points as the minimum value of the amplitude of the other.
