Visual phototransduction is the sensory transduction of the visual system. It is a process by which light is converted into electrical signals in the rod cells, cone cells and photosensitive ganglion cells of the retina of the eye.

A BIT OF HISTORY:

For those of you with a sense of humor (or even if you lack this), we will share the inside story on how The K.I.S.S. Laser came to be created and named.

To get the phasing right on our sonic algorithm recordings, we studied the sound on an oscilloscope in our audio engineer's studio. Above you will see a picture of the painstaking work getting the sonic phasing and camera alignments that also involved the use of a dental mirror!

Bob Phillips called our turning waves "Kymotropes". Bob and Tom are both consummate humorists. Bob however, likes to take that humor into branding with a twist: use of the double entendre, which is what the name The K.I.S.S. Laser is. First of all, it is an acronym:

Second, it is a joke on Judy, as she never keeps ANYTHING short and simple!

We use the K.I.S.S. Laser as a display item to film, photograph, perform and utilize our sonic research in isomorphic & kinetic art. It is the perfect tool to show how your own creations and the creations of others' sound/sonic research and music look. Our goal is to take these interactive tools (The K.I.S.S. lasers) in multiple directions and to inter-mingle these directions to build synergism:

1. as a language decoder and interactive tool with cetaceans,

2. as a multi-media art tool ,

3. as a musical performance isomorphic enhancement tool,

4. as a sonic research tool,

5. as a meditation tool (with or without the kinetic portion),

6. as an alternative medical neurological tool coupled with the kinetic portion (visual, motor and circadian systems response),

9. as an intermediary/interfacing tool for design of harmonic audiographs, sonic jewelry, personal sygils, & homeopathic sound signatures.

In mathematics, an isomorphism (from the Ancient Greek: ἴσος isos "equal", and μορφή morphe "form" or "shape") is a homomorphism (or more generally a morphism) that admits an inverse. [note 1] Two mathematical objects are isomorphic if an isomorphism exists between them.

The interest of isomorphisms lies in the fact that two isomorphic objects cannot be distinguished by using only the properties used to define morphisms (a structure-preserving map from one mathematical structure to another); thus isomorphic objects may be considered the same as long as one considers only these properties and their consequences.

When you move the computer mouse, the cursor on your computer screen is supposed to respond. The signal from your brain, to your hand, to the mouse, gets the computer to respond. This is a one to one relationship. We just apply the isomorphisms (which we have created or discovered from someone else's creation as matching) very differently than most:

For instance: we utilize mathematically perfect sound (algorithm/music) to drive the coherent light (The K.I.S.S. lasers). The coherent light enters through the eyes where the light is converted to electrical signals.
